Tender System

The Boss of Valsesia competition is divided into:

• Marathon Qualifications with group start

• Boss of Valsesia Final, reserved for the Top 20 athletes

The races will take place on Saturday, May 9, between the municipalities of Scopello, Scopa, and Balmuccia.

QUALIFICATIONS – MARATHON (Boss of Valsesia)

• Start: Group start

• Start time: 11:00 AM

• Starting point: Scopello, upstream of the Il Capriccio rapid

• River class: WW III–IV

• Course length: approximately 3 km

Course

Marathon descent on the Sesia River from Scopello to Scopa.

Finish

• Ponte delle Piane – Municipality of Scopa

• Landing: Left riverbank

👉 The qualifications will determine the provisional ranking of the Top 20 athletes, who will advance to the Boss of Valsesia Final.

FINAL – BOSS OF VALSESIA (TOP 20)

• Start time: 2:00 PM

• River class: WW IV–V

• Course length: approximately 1 km

Course

The iconic Sermenza Gorges.

• Start: At the Foresteria, upstream of the rapids at the entrance of the gorges

• Finish: Municipality of Balmuccia, with exit along the path passing by the Monrosa Rafting Center

👉 The best overall time in the Final will crown the BOSS OF VALSESIA.

 MARATHON (Non-Competitive Race)

• Section: Scopello → Scopa

• River class: WW III–IV

• Course length: approximately 3 km

• Start: Group start

• Purpose: Open event with a dedicated ranking

Allowed Categories

• K1 Senior Men and Women

• K1 Junior Men and Women

Awards

• Technical equipment prizes for the top 3 finishers in each category

👉 Separate ranking from the Boss of Valsesia

❌ Boss Game participants do not advance to the Final on the Sermenza

JAWS PACKRAFT CONTEST

• Mixed race: running + packraft

• Start: Municipality of Scopa, at the BossKayak Shop

• Running section: Along the cycle path to the boarding point located 500 m upstream of Ponte delle Piane

• River section: Finish downstream of Ponte delle Piane

• River class: WW II–III
